

Wenge – Dark brown to black hardwood with varying grain.
Zebrano – Varying coloured stripes, dark & light brown. Even grain & hard.
Cherry – Hard straight grained hardwood with fine texture. Reddish brown colour.
French Oak – Coarse textured & straight grained with distinct growth rings & broad rays. Pale gold & Hard.
Walnut – Rich grey brown with darker streaks, straight & can be wavy grain. Hard.
Blackwood (Tasi) – Lustrous golden to dark brown colour. Generally straight, but can be wavy grain. Medium Hard.
Dark Jarrah – Same as Jarrah, (below). But dark timber specially selected so more even colour.
Totara – Even mid brown colour. Straight close grain. Softish.
Jarrah – Pink to dark red colour with some small black resin veins. Very Hard.
Maple – Hard straight grained wood with fine texture. White to light reddish brown colour.
Oak (USA) – Very similar to French Oak , with maybe more colour variation & wider growth rings.
Matai (NZ) – Vibrant gold to mid brown. Evenly textured, medium density.
Bubinga (African Rosewood)– Hardwood with red brown to brown purple colour with clear wild prominent grain.
Rimu – Fine even textured. Reddish brown to yellowish. Varying grain, Medium density.
Tawa – Fine even grain. Goldie yellow colour. Medium density.
Iroko – Hardwood. Yellow brown colour. Uniform structure without clear grain. Close to Teak.
Pacific Matai – Very similar to Rimu colour & Grain. Maybe not as much character & a bit softer.
Vic Ash (Tas Oak) – Coarse straight grain. Pale white colour. Medium density.
Kwila – Varying grain, dense hardwood, yellowish, brown to dark reddish brown colour, with small yellow flecks.
Pacific Jarrah – Very dense hardwood, red brown colour, aging to more brown.
Black Totara – Same as Totara, but more dark brown to black. Naturally stained by earth.
Kauri (NZ) – Golden fine straight grain softwood. Small flecks in grain provide character & depth.
NZ ASH – Fastagata – Pale (whitey) hardwood with tight interlocking wavy grain.
Jotoba – Very dense, fine even grain, reddish brown.
Anegre (English Tawa) – Light golden colour with straight even grain. Relatively soft.
Saligna – Pale pink to light red colour hardwood with varying grain.
Sapele – Classical dark reddish brown colour with even or interlocking grain. Medium density.
Sucapira – Very dense hardwood, mid to dark brown colour with varying grain.
NZ Beech – Medium density hardwood, consistent pale to pink colour.
Rosewood (PNG) – Golden to red brown colour hardwood with moderately coarse uneven grain.
USA Ash – Coarse but generally straight grained hardwood. Whiteish colour.
Euro Beech – Straight even grained. Light yellow beige to pinky red colour. Hard.
Salusalu – Very similar to Sap Rimu. Relatively soft, mid brown colour.
Elm NZ – Hardwood with lively grain structure with golden brown colour.
NZ Blackwood – Very similar to Tasi. Blackwood, but with more colour variation & small feature knots.
Kauri (Island) – Similar to NZ Kauri, but more pale & not as dense.
Yaka – Similar looking to Heart Rimu, but bolder dark grain.
Pacific Walnut – Medium density, varying colour from light brown to grey and black, with bold grain.
Macrocarpa Clears – Yellow, golden colour. Varying grain. Relatively soft.
Oak – Comsels Grade – Same as oak (USA). But lower grade. May include some knots.
Macrocarpa Slabs – Same as Macrocarpa above, but may include knots, bark, holes & splits.
Akwa (Taun) – Straight grained, light to mid brown colour hardwood.
Pine – Pale, Clear softwood with even texture.
